Country singer RaeLynn has filed for divorce from her husband, Josh Davis, closing the book on a marriage that lasted more than ten years. The 32-year-old, best known for her run on Season 2 of “The Voice” and her hit single “God Made Girls,” confirmed the split in a personal statement released Tuesday morning.
The announcement comes just months after she and Davis marked their tenth wedding anniversary.
In her statement, RaeLynn said she arrived at the choice only after significant reflection. “After much thought and prayer, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” she wrote. She added that the process has not been simple for her or her family.
The singer, whose legal name is Racheal Davis, also addressed her role as a mother moving forward. She said she remains focused on providing stability for her daughter as the family adjusts to this new chapter.
She closed her statement by thanking her family, friends, and fans for their support and asking for privacy during the transition.
Court Filing Details Emerge

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE show RaeLynn filed a divorce complaint quoting irreconcilable differences against Josh Davis on June 8, 2026, in Davidson County Circuit Court in Nashville, Tennessee.
The filing reportedly includes a temporary injunction, a summons for personal service, and an order requiring the couple to complete a parenting seminar. Davis was formally served with the divorce papers on June 22, 2026.
Records indicate RaeLynn listed the date of filing as the date of separation and cited irreconcilable differences as the basis for the divorce. She has also requested to be named the primary residential parent for the couple’s daughter.
Neither RaeLynn nor Davis has publicly detailed what led to the breakdown of the marriage.
Davis has not issued any public statement regarding the filing as of this writing. The couple shares one child together, a daughter named Daisy Rae, who was born in September 2021 in Nashville.
How the Couple’s Relationship Began
RaeLynn and Davis first crossed paths at church back in 2012, the same year she appeared on “The Voice” as a member of Blake Shelton’s team. Their initial meeting did not immediately lead to romance, and the pair went their separate ways before reconnecting later at a mutual friend’s wedding.
From there, they moved through an on-and-off courtship before eventually deciding to commit to one another fully.
Davis proposed in October 2015 during a scavenger hunt he organized across Belmont University in Nashville, guiding RaeLynn through locations that carried meaning throughout their relationship. The pair exchanged vows in February 2016 in front of roughly 300 guests.
Among those in attendance were RaeLynn’s former coach, Blake Shelton, and his wife, Gwen Stefani.
A Marriage Shaped by Military Service
Before their wedding, Davis worked as a financial advisor and had previously played minor league baseball. In 2017, just a year into the marriage, he decided to join the U.S. Army, a path RaeLynn said he had long wanted to pursue. That choice introduced a new dynamic into their relationship almost immediately.
RaeLynn has spoken in the past about the difficulty of extended separations that came with being married to a service member. She described accepting long stretches apart as a trade-off she was willing to make for their relationship.
Those comments, made years before the current filing, reflected a marriage that had already weathered significant strain.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Daisy Rae, in September 2021, with RaeLynn sharing the news online through a series of family photos. At the time, she portrayed the birth as a joyful milestone for the family.
The couple continued to present a united front publicly in the years that followed, making the recent filing a surprise to many fans.
What Comes Next for the Family

With the parenting seminar order in place, both RaeLynn and Davis will be required to complete the court-mandated program as the case moves forward. It remains unclear how long the divorce proceedings will take or whether the terms will be contested.
RaeLynn’s request to serve as primary residential parent for Daisy Rae has not yet been addressed by the court.
For now, RaeLynn appears focused on maintaining her family’s privacy while the legal process unfolds. Her statement made clear that shielding her daughter from unnecessary disruption is her immediate priority. She has not indicated when, or if, she plans to share further updates publicly.
Fans of the singer have flooded social media with messages of support since the announcement. Many pointed to the length of the marriage and the couple’s public displays of affection over the years as reasons the news came as a shock.
Others noted that RaeLynn’s statement struck a tone of grace rather than conflict, a detail that stood out across reactions online.
As the case proceeds through Davidson County Circuit Court, additional filings could clarify the terms surrounding custody, timeline, and any other conditions attached to the separation.
Both RaeLynn and Davis have kept the specifics of their disagreement private so far. Until further statements are made, the public record remains limited to the court documents filed on June 8.
