Pizza lovers in Fort Worth will soon have another pizza option to add to their list.

Pizza Guys, the Sacramento-based pizza franchise, has signed a lease for a new Fort Worth restaurant, marking the brand’s second Texas location. The restaurant is planned for 3529 Heritage Trace Parkway, Suite 119, and is expected to open in early 2027.

Longtime friends and business partners Kapil Pantha and Tara Rai will own and operate the new location. Their Fort Worth restaurant follows Pizza Guys’ 2025 Texas debut in Plano.

A New Pizza Option for Fort Worth

The Fort Worth restaurant will occupy space at Heritage Trace Plaza. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records list a restaurant interior finish-out project at the address, registered in August 2026. The records identify the space as approximately 1,307 square feet.

Pizza Guys said the new franchise partners plan to hire at least five employees for the location.

For Pantha and Rai, the restaurant also marks the start of a broader franchise journey. The pair have said they intend to develop a multi-unit operation, making the Fort Worth location their first step beyond the brand’s existing Texas presence.

From California to Texas

Pizza Guys was founded in Sacramento in 1986 and has spent decades building its franchise network. The company began franchising in 1994 and has expanded beyond California into Nevada and, more recently, Texas.

The company’s first Texas restaurant opened in Plano in 2025. That opening also pushed Pizza Guys past the 100-location milestone systemwide.

The company says its pizzas are made with fresh-made dough, whole-milk mozzarella, and sauce made with California-grown tomatoes. Its menu includes pizzas and other items designed around the brand’s fast-casual restaurant model.

Why Fort Worth?

The Fort Worth expansion gives Pizza Guys another foothold in the large Dallas-Fort Worth market, following its initial entry into the region through Plano.

For the local franchise owners, however, the restaurant is about more than adding another pizza shop to the area.

Rai has described the goal as becoming part of the Fort Worth community, emphasizing customer service and creating a welcoming restaurant for families.

Pantha also brings previous restaurant and operations experience to the partnership. His professional background includes restaurant work, convenience-store management, and logistics. Rai also has experience in restaurants, fast food, and technology.

The Restaurant Is Still Months Away

Fort Worth residents will have to wait a little longer before the new Pizza Guys opens its doors.

The company currently expects the restaurant to open in early 2027, rather than before the end of 2026. Construction records for the site list an estimated project completion date of December 31, 2026, although that is a construction-project date rather than a confirmed public opening date.

Once open, the Fort Worth restaurant will become only the second Pizza Guys location in Texas.

The expansion comes during an important year for the company. Pizza Guys is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026 and says it now has more than 100 restaurants across California, Nevada, and Texas.

For Fort Worth residents who enjoy trying new neighborhood restaurants, the upcoming location offers another option to watch as Heritage Trace Plaza prepares for the new pizza restaurant.

The opening date has not yet been announced, though the company expects it in early 2027.
