“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,” McClure wrote in his tribute. He also remembered Grisetti as someone whose presence brought joy to friends, colleagues, and students.

Before his death, Grisetti had been working as director of Legally Blonde: The Musical at the Trentino Music Festival in Italy. He stepped away from the production before its opening, citing personal reasons, and no further public details were provided.

After leaving the production, Grisetti shared appreciation for the cast members who sent him a supportive tribute featuring his image. He thanked them for their kindness and wished the performers success with the show. There is no public information indicating that his departure from the production was connected to his death.
