Stephen Hawking spent much of his life studying the universe, but some of his most haunting warnings were not about distant galaxies or black holes. They were about us.
Years after his death in 2018, Hawking’s predictions are resurfacing across social media, science forums, podcasts and public debates. The reason is not nostalgia; it is timing.
The world he warned about now feels uncomfortably familiar: artificial intelligence is racing ahead, climate records are being shattered, governments are struggling to regulate powerful technology, and scientists are still scanning the skies for threats humans cannot afford to ignore.
Hawking was not a fortune teller. He was a physicist with a rare ability to look at human progress and ask the question many people avoided: what happens when our intelligence becomes powerful enough to endanger us? That question is suddenly everywhere.
