The post Lila’s Plans All-Day New American Dining at Downtown Houston’s GreenStreet This Fall first appeared on Crafting Your Home.
Downtown Houston is set to welcome a new kind of gathering place where morning coffee, business lunches, dinner plans, and late-night drinks can all happen under one roof. Lila’s, a planned chef-driven restaurant and cocktail destination, is coming to GreenStreet with an all-day concept designed around the rhythm of city life.
The restaurant is planned for the ground floor at 1201 Fannin St., Houston, TX 77002, inside GreenStreet. While local outlets have announced and reported the project, Lila’s should still be viewed as an upcoming opening rather than an operating restaurant until the company confirms service has begun.
The idea behind Lila’s is built around flexibility: a place where guests might stop in for breakfast, return for lunch, settle in for happy hour, enjoy dinner and stay for cocktails later in the evening. The concept aims to bring together dining, drinks and hospitality in a way that fits downtown’s changing pace.
A new all-day destination for downtown Houston

Many restaurants are built around a single moment of the day, but Lila’s is planned around the full experience. The restaurant’s founder, Tristan Simon, described the concept to What Now Houston as “a chef-driven, all-day-and-night restaurant disguised as your favorite hotel lobby.”
That description reflects the restaurant’s intended identity: part dining room, part social gathering space, and part relaxed hospitality destination. Rather than focusing on a single meal period, Lila’s is designed to transition from morning energy to evening atmosphere.
According to reporting from Community Impact and What Now Houston, the planned schedule includes morning coffee and breakfast, lunch service, happy hour, dinner, and late-night cocktails. The exact timing of services will depend on the restaurant’s rollout plans.
The opening is expected this fall, with What Now Houston reporting that Simon said the team was targeting a mid-October debut for breakfast and lunch, followed by dinner service in mid-November. Those dates are rollout targets, not confirmed public opening dates.
Houston influences shape the planned menu.
Lila’s is expected to feature New American cooking influenced by Houston’s diverse culinary traditions. The restaurant’s concept centers on seasonal ingredients and connections with local farmers and purveyors, according to information from the company announcement reported by Community Impact and What Now Houston.
Rather than announcing a finalized menu, early descriptions focus on the food’s direction: a modern American approach shaped by the city’s multicultural food scene. Individual dishes and the final menu lineup have not yet been independently verified.
That Houston connection appears to be central to the restaurant’s identity. The city’s dining culture has long been shaped by a mix of global influences, and Lila’s plans to reflect that through a menu that draws from local traditions while taking a broader New American approach.
The team behind the food and drinks
Lila’s is being developed with a culinary and beverage team that includes chefs and hospitality professionals with Houston experience.
Community Impact and What Now Houston identified Garee Battad as executive chef and Zach Smigiel as the mixologist leading the cocktail program. Community Impact reported, based on the company release, that Battad most recently served as executive chef of Azumi in River Oaks District.
What Now Houston also reported that Matt Ford, chef and partner of Billy Can Can, is contributing to menu development. That detail comes from What Now Houston’s reporting on the project.
Together, the team reflects the restaurant’s focus on combining chef-driven food with a beverage program designed to make the space work from morning through night.
A hospitality-inspired space for gathering

Beyond the menu, Lila’s is presenting itself as a restaurant built around atmosphere. The company has described plans for a space inspired by boutique hotels, with lounge seating, gathering areas, a bar and a dining room.
That vision is part of the restaurant’s broader goal: creating a setting that feels comfortable for different occasions. A guest might visit for a quick coffee, a relaxed meal or an evening out, depending on the time of day.
The design details remain prospective, based on the company’s announcement rather than an independently reviewed finished space. Still, the planned atmosphere gives a sense of how Lila’s hopes to fit into downtown Houston’s dining scene.
What Lila’s could add to GreenStreet
Located in the heart of downtown, GreenStreet has become a destination for restaurants, entertainment, and urban experiences. Lila’s planned arrival adds another food-focused concept to the area while reflecting a broader interest in flexible dining spaces that serve multiple purposes throughout the day.
For downtown residents, workers and visitors, the appeal of an all-day restaurant is its ability to adapt. A single location can fit into different routines: a morning stop before work, a meeting place at lunch, a dinner destination, or a spot to unwind after hours.
For now, Lila’s remains a planned opening, with its menu, atmosphere, and service schedule still taking shape. But the concept offers a preview of what the team hopes to bring to GreenStreet: a Houston-inspired restaurant experience designed to move with the city from morning to night.
