Big Tigger is facing serious criminal charges, and the evidence against him may have been recorded inside his own home the entire time.
The former BET “Rap City” host, and the well-known Atlanta radio personality whose legal name is Darian Morgan, was booked into Fulton County Jail on June 20 on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the third degree, according to Fulton County jail records. He was released the same day after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
The arrest comes weeks after his wife, Alicia Brown, showed up at an urgent care facility with a cut above her eye serious enough to require stitches, and a Ring camera inside the couple’s home reportedly captured what led to that injury.
How the Night of May 9 Allegedly Unfolded

According to an arrest affidavit reviewed by WSB-TV, the trouble started in the couple’s bedroom when Brown confronted Morgan about text messages she found on his phone from a woman he worked with.
Brown told investigators that the messaging between her husband and the coworker had been ongoing for several weeks before she raised it with him. Morgan’s response, per the affidavit, was to raise his voice and call her “psycho.” He then pulled out his phone and started recording her. When she reached over to grab the phone, the situation turned physical.
The affidavit states that during the struggle, Brown was shoved and her face struck an office door, leaving a cut above her left eye that needed stitches. According to WSB-TV’s review of the warrant, the wound was still visibly scarred more than a month after the incident.
Morgan then took Brown to an urgent care clinic in Dunwoody that same night. He told the staff she had slipped and fallen. Medical personnel, concerned by the seriousness of the injury and by Brown’s refusal to explain what happened, contacted police. She was later transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital for additional treatment, the affidavit said.
When Sandy Springs investigators later asked Brown why she had not cooperated with police on the night of the incident, she told them directly, per FOX 5’s reporting on the affidavit, that she was afraid of what [Morgan] might do to her, and because he is a well-known celebrity, nobody would believe her.
The Ring Camera Footage
TMZ obtained video from a Ring camera inside the home that appears to show part of the confrontation.
In the footage, Brown is heard asking someone to take a picture. Morgan then appears to approach her, grab her by the neck, and tell her to stop. He takes hold of her arms as she yells at him to let go. He then moves her toward a corner of the room, behind a door, and out of the camera’s view. A loud noise follows, and then what sounds like crying.
The same camera system later became part of the legal dispute. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Brown alleged in her protective order petition that Morgan eventually cut off her access to the home’s Ring cameras and gate controls after the incident, effectively locking her out of the property’s own security system.
Brown Goes Public, Then to Court

On June 6, Brown posted a video on Instagram showing her face with stitches and bruising around her eye. She captioned it, asking people to question her husband about what happened to her face, and tagged his V-103 cohost Francesca Amiker in the process.
The post went viral. Days later, through media personality Loren LoRosa, Brown issued a follow-up statement saying she had “never called my husband an abuser” and that “social media has drawn its own conclusions from information that was shared.”
Then she went to court. Brown petitioned a Fulton County judge for a protective order, alleging in her filing that Morgan had pressured her to deny that anything had happened and warned her she would “lose everything” if she spoke publicly about it.
The judge granted the order. Under its terms, Morgan must stay at least 200 yards away from Brown, their children, and the family home. Brown received temporary custody of the couple’s minor children and exclusive use of the residence. Morgan was also ordered to hand over control of the home’s Ring cameras and gate system, per TMZ’s reporting on the court documents. A hearing is set for July 13.
The cruelty to children charge is tied to the couple’s 13-year-old son, who was home during the May 9 incident and could hear the confrontation from his upstairs bedroom, according to arrest warrants reviewed by 11 Alive.
Morgan Has Denied Everything
Before his arrest, Morgan addressed the situation publicly. “I want to say categorically that these allegations and accusations that have been circulating are false,” he said, adding that he was asking for “grace, privacy, and restraint” as his family worked through what he described as a difficult time.
After his release from jail, he posted a message on Instagram that read, “Life is a cruel teacher… she loves to give you the test first, and the lesson later.” He has not directly addressed the charges since.
Morgan has not returned to his V-103 morning show since the arrest. Frank Ski has been filling the slot in his absence, according to AllHipHop. Prosecutors have not yet issued a formal indictment, and the case remains in its early stages heading into the July 13 court date.
