When it comes to hair, we all know that it can be a powerful part of your appearance. It’s one of the first things people notice, and it can make a bold statement about your personality and style.

Men, like women, have their own preferences when it comes to hair colour, although they may not always be as vocal about it. While beauty is subjective, there are certain shades that tend to catch their attention more than others. At the same time, some hair colours, for whatever reason, may not rank as high on their list of favourites.

Let’s look the hair colors that many men find attractive and 6 that they might avoid, though, of course, everyone’s preferences are different.

Blonde

Blonde hair has always been a classic choice. It often gives off a youthful, vibrant, and fun vibe. Many Men are drawn to blonde hair because it tends to be bright and eye-catching, and it’s often linked with carefree energy and beauty.

From a platinum blonde or a warm honey blonde, Blonde is a color that stands out and draws attention. Many men find blonde hair attractive because it can convey both elegance and a playful side, making it a favorite.

Brunette

Brunette hair is often seen as sophisticated, intelligent, and confident. Many men like darker shades such as chestnut, caramel, or chocolate because they look refined and strong.

Brunette hair is versatile and looks great in both casual and formal settings. It’s often viewed as more mature or grounded, which adds to its appeal. It also works well with many styles, from beachy waves to sleek updos.

Red

Red hair has a unique charm that makes it stand out in a crowd. Men often find red hair particularly attractive because it’s rarer and associated with fiery personalities and confidence. From bright copper to deep auburn, red hair tends to grab attention in the best way.

It’s a bold choice that conveys uniqueness, and many men are drawn to it because it stands out in a way that blonde or brunette hair can’t. There’s something captivating about a fiery redhead, and it’s a color that tends to symbolize warmth and vitality.

Black

Black hair, from jet-black to dark brown, has a mysterious and elegant look. Many men are drawn to it because it feels powerful and sophisticated.

Black hair suits many skin tones and can add drama to any style. The strong contrast with bright eyes or fair skin often stands out.

Pastel Colors

Pastel-colored hair is a popular choice for adventurous women. Shades like soft pink, lavender, mint, and baby blue create a fun and playful look. Some men find these colors attractive because they show creativity and a bold spirit.

Pastel hair is a great way to express your personality and can look great with many skin tones and outfits.

Hair colors men tend to avoid

Gray Hair

Gray hair is certainly gaining appreciation in fashion and beauty circles, some men are still a bit hesitant about it. For women under a certain age, gray hair might be perceived as a sign of aging, which can turn some men off.

There are many men who find gray hair incredibly attractive, particularly when it’s styled well and worn confidently.  So, while some may shy away from it, others may find it incredibly distinguished and mature. Embracing your natural grays with confidence can be a true asset to your look.

Very Light or Pale Blonde

Blonde hair in general is attractive, very light or pale blonde hair can sometimes come off as washed out or too stark. This is especially true when the hair color doesn’t complement a person’s skin tone, making it appear a bit flat or lifeless.

Men may not always be drawn to this look because it can lack warmth or dimension. If you love blonde hair but feel like very pale blonde isn’t quite right, consider adding warmer tones or subtle highlights to give it some life and depth.

Bland, Unstyled Hair

It’s not necessarily about the color, but the way it’s styled. Unstyled, flat, or messy hair (without the right kind of messy) can sometimes come across as unkempt. Men often find well-maintained and styled hair more attractive, regardless of the color.

So, if your hair color is perfectly great but you’re just letting it hang lifelessly, it might not grab attention the way it should. A little styling, whether it’s simple waves or a polished updo, can make a world of difference.

Conclusion

Hair color preferences are personal. While some men may have specific preferences, it’s essential to remember that confidence and how you carry yourself are far more important than the color of your hair.

Whether you’re rocking a bold, vibrant shade or embracing your natural color, what truly makes you attractive is how you feel about yourself. Love your hair, and others will, too.
