Economic Impact for Local Businesses

Large festivals can create opportunities for nearby businesses, particularly restaurants, hotels, transportation providers, and retail shops.

While specific economic impact figures for the 2026 festival have not been publicly released, local tourism officials often point to events of this scale as contributors to visitor spending and regional exposure.

For East Aurora businesses, festival weekends can bring new customers from outside the immediate area while giving local vendors a platform to showcase their products.

A Growing Western New York Tradition

Founded in 2018, Borderland has become one of Western New York’s recurring music events, building a reputation for a mix of national performers and local culture.

Previous editions have featured artists including The Black Crowes, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, The Revivalists, and Trey Anastasio, festival organizers say.

As the 2026 festival approaches, organizers are positioning Borderland as a gathering place for music fans looking for a weekend experience that blends major performances with the character of a regional community.
