A Community Celebration of Hispanic Heritage

Families gathered at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Saturday as North Las Vegas celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant community festival featuring mariachi music, folklórico dancing, traditional food and cultural performances.
Festival Brings Music, Dance and Family Activities
The celebration began at 3 p.m. on the park’s multipurpose fields, where attendees enjoyed live performances, explored community-resource booths, visited local vendors and participated in family-friendly activities. Free admission and parking made the festival accessible for residents looking for a weekend celebration of culture.
Honoring History Through the Grito de Dolores

A meaningful highlight of the event was the presentation of the Grito de Dolores, the historic ceremonial cry that commemorates the beginning of Mexico’s independence movement in 1810.
Showcasing Latino Culture Through Performances
The entertainment lineup showcased the diversity of Hispanic and Latino cultures represented throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The program featured mariachi, folklórico, and cultural performances, followed by appearances from El Gallo de Araiza y Su Banda, La Internacional Sonora Mar y Mar, and a DJ performance that closed the evening.
Parade of Nations Celebrates Community Diversity

Another special feature was the Parade of Nations, which celebrated the many backgrounds, countries, and cultures that shape North Las Vegas’s identity.
A Celebration Beyond Entertainment
For many attendees, the festival offered more than entertainment. Children played while families shared traditional foods, local performers celebrated their art, and neighbors gathered in a public space where Hispanic culture and heritage were proudly recognized.
