The post Where to Eat in New York City Right Now: 7 Restaurants Worth Putting on Your List first appeared on Crafting Your Home.
New York City has never been short of places to eat, but that can make deciding where actually to go surprisingly difficult. Restaurants open, close, return, and reinvent themselves constantly, while new neighborhoods keep adding their own dining destinations.
If you’re looking for somewhere worth trying in September 2026, the current restaurant scene offers plenty of options, from established favorites to newer arrivals that have quickly attracted attention.
Adda: East Village

If you’re craving Indian food, Adda is one restaurant currently drawing attention in the East Village. Time Out’s September 2026 restaurant guide includes the restaurant among its current NYC picks.
From the Unapologetic Foods team, the restaurant is known for its Indian menu and distinctive dining room. Time Out particularly highlights its lamb dishes, chaat, and its butter chicken experience, which is offered only at certain times during the evening.
Located at 107 1st Ave., Adda is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to Time Out’s current listing.
Fish Cheeks: Nolita
Fish Cheeks has been part of New York’s dining scene since opening in Nolita in 2016, and it remains on the radar in September 2026.
Brothers and chefs Ohm and Chat Suansilphong founded the Thai seafood restaurant with Jenn Saesue and Pranwalai Kittirattanawiwat. Eater recently revisited the original restaurant and noted its focus on bold Thai flavors and seafood.
Cospa Ramen: Flatiron
For ramen, Cospa Ramen is one of the newer names on Eater’s September Manhattan Heatmap.
Kirbee’s: Greenpoint
Brooklyn is getting plenty of attention this month, and Kirbee’s is one of the newer restaurants highlighted by Eater.
The Greenpoint restaurant brings a Texas-leaning barbecue concept to the neighborhood. Eater added it to its September Brooklyn Heatmap alongside other new and returning restaurants.
If you’re exploring Brooklyn rather than staying in Manhattan, Kirbee’s gives you another reason to add Greenpoint to your dining itinerary.

The Astor: NoHo
One of the newest options on this list is The Astor at The Public Theater.
The restaurant opened September 15, 2026, replacing the theater’s former Library restaurant. Eater reports that the new space takes inspiration from old New York taverns and supper clubs, with a wood-paneled interior, bar, lounge, and dining areas.
L’Industrie: Little Italy and beyond
Time Out’s September 2026 NYC guide includes L’Industrie as its pick for an excellent slice and notes that the New York pizza shop now has a Little Italy location in addition to its other locations.
Thai Diner: NoMad
Thai Diner is another established name that remains on Time Out’s current NYC restaurant list.
The NoMad restaurant has continued to attract attention for dishes including Thai tea babka, French toast, and disco fries. Time Out’s current guide includes it among its recommendations for dining in New York City.
It’s also a useful reminder that the city’s most interesting dining options aren’t necessarily brand-new. Some restaurants stay relevant because people keep coming back.
